B-Sharp News
By Kathy Magid
B-SHARP just finished up its tenth school
year in June! It was one of our busiest years
ever (123 students), despite well-publicized
decreases in the Countys suspension rates. B-
SHARPs excellent utilization is probably due
to a number of factors, not the least of which
is because we have the best volunteers! I want
to thank this years B-SHARP volunteers who
all helped make our program so successful:
Michelle Bowie
Frances Burke
Marj Gross
Travis Hart
Don Hauprich
Celeste Herbert
Paul Jensen
Mark Johnson
Phil Kaylor
Tricia Leiter
Dave Lewis
Nancy Logan
Scott Luttrell
Marcy McAdoo
John Meyers
Rob Pierson
Shirley Pugh
Claudia Ramirez
Debbie Slatkin
Larry Summers
Martha Summers
Marcia Swanson,
Pat Tyler
Karen Walker
Elsie Whitten.
Also, special thanks go to Pastor Jeff and Don
Hauprich for their skillful lobbying efforts and
attendance at endless meetings during the past
year! I feel blessed to have your support.
Liberty Grove remains committed to this
ministry serving students suspended from lo-
cal schools and their families. B-SHARP will
re-open in September with many returning
volunteers and a need for some new people to
help. Please consider volunteering for B-
SHARP next year. Even a few hours a month
is helpful. If you have questions, feel free to
ask me or any of the volunteers. Happy sum-
mer!
Grace is a Gift
When we work an eight-hour day and receive eight hours pay, that is a
WAGE.
When we compete with an opponent and win, and receive a trophy, that is a
PRIZE.
When we receive recognition for our service or achievement, that is an
AWARD.
But when we can earn no wage, can win no prize and deserve no award - yet
we receive such a gift - that is unmerited favor. That is undeserved kindness.
That is GRACE.
